The judiciary committee has scheduled an "executive business meeting" on some of Obama's nominees. I am not exactly sure what an "executive business meeting" actually is, though. It is not a hearing. If it was, the announcement would look something like this.
After doing a little research, it appears as if this is when they actually vote on stuff (see this report from a business meeting). I guess I should know that.
But, whatever it is, both Chatigny and Carney are on the agenda. And that makes sense. There has yet to be a vote on Carney. And the committee has to have a re-vote on Chatigny because he was sent back to the president.
But even if they get voted through (I am positive Carney will; Chatigny is a maybe, but I would say likely), that does not mean that a floor vote on any of them will happen any time soon. I mean, there hasn't even been a floor vote on Lohier, who was voted through unanimously eon's ago. Maybe the Democrats will take them all on en masse in the lame duck session. Who knows? But I think that, once January rolls around, it is fair to worry about whether any Obama nominee will be confirmed over the next two years.
