On Thursday, the Second Circuit posted the following announcement:
The United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit will convert to a new case management system and electronic document filing (“CM/ECF”) effective January 20, 2010. Newly adopted Interim Local Rule 25.1 sets forth the Court’s filing requirements. This newly designed Clerk’s Office web page [ed. discussed here] contains information regarding PACER registration and detailed filing instructions. PACER registration to file in this Court will commence December 22, 2009. Additional announcements regarding the transition will be made in January 2010.
So it looks like all attorneys may have to re-register into PACER in order to file documents electronically with the court. As stated in this announcement, watch for further information about all of this in January 2010.
