At the other end, here's a post that provides an historical discussion of capital punishment in the U.S. and notes that the AEDPA's restriction on habeas has increased the pace of executions.
Read together, I guess we can say that the AEDPA has sped up executions, but not enough. If the complaining continues, can we expect an AEDPA Part II with a potentially Republican Congress? Boy, that really would be fun, wouldn't it?
